Hazard Identification is the foundation of a safe workplace. Using the Ten Causes of Accidents as a guide, employees become proficient at identifying Hazards. They are more likely to even spot the everyday hazards which cause most of our accidents.
In its basic form, BBS is the process whereby accidents/incidents are reduced using input from everyone at the worksite. The focus is on observing for Unsafe Acts and Unsafe Conditions, then applying appropriate controls. These controls may include conversations, elimination of a hazardous situation or documentation.
